We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Art Teacher to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will be a native or fluent English speaker with a background in design and experience engaging with children. This position involves instructing primary school students in an ESL (English as a Second Language) setting, creating an interactive art curriculum, and nurturing a passion for creativity and self-expression among young learners.
- Develop and implement a thorough art curriculum that aligns with the school's educational objectives and promotes creativity, exploration, and artistic development.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
- Apply effective classroom management techniques to sustain a productive and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Integrate design concepts and various art techniques into lessons to deliver a comprehensive artistic education.
- Organize and showcase student artwork to acknowledge their achievements and highlight the art program within the school community.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to weave art into interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student progress while keeping accurate records of their development.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the school.
Requirements:
- Native or fluent English speaker with strong communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.
- Teaching certification or equivalent credential (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, PGCE) is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
- Solid background in design and a thorough understanding of a variety of art techniques and mediums.
- Experience in creating and implementing art curricula tailored for primary school students.
- Ability to instruct art in an ESL context, focusing on making lessons engaging and accessible for non-native English speakers.
- Exceptional classroom management abilities and the capacity to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Creative, patient, and enthusiastic about promoting artistic expression among children.
- Openness to adapting to a new cultural environment and collaborating effectively within a diverse team.
