Join Our Team

Durham School for Girls, Doha, offers a British Curriculum education to a lively community of 1,220 predominantly Qatari girls. Our commitment to nurturing girls who graduate with ‘Confidence for Life’ is reflected in our inclusive environment that encourages every student to achieve her fullest potential.

We are in search of an outstanding Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. The SENCO will be crucial in enhancing the educational experiences of our students by ensuring tailored support for each learner, enabling them to excel both academically and personally.

The ideal candidate will exhibit cultural awareness in all support aspects, recognizing and meeting the distinct needs of our primarily Qatari student body. The SENCO should be prepared to assist students who may not have a formal SEN diagnosis but require additional help due to language challenges or other factors.

Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of SEN provisions, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency in establishing and managing in-class support strategies to facilitate all students’ achievement. Additionally, the SENCO will oversee the strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and the day-to-day implementation of policies aimed at enhancing SEN pupils' performance. A SENCO qualification is preferred for this position.

- Design and implement engaging lessons that adhere to curriculum standards and accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Plan and deliver curriculum content that aligns with DSGD/MARK values, Qatari culture, and MOE ethics.
- Use assessments effectively to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages respect and collaboration.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning.
- Provide prompt, constructive feedback to students and relevant stakeholders regarding academic performance.
- Support student wellbeing by nurturing personal growth, resilience, and positive relationships.
- Actively engage in professional development to continually improve teaching practices.
- Exemplify the school’s MARK values in all interactions and serve as a positive representative for DSGD.
- Utilize school communication platforms effectively to share information, resources, and updates.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community-building initiatives.
- Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare policies to ensure student protection.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies.
- Ensure that all teaching materials, planning, and curriculum content reflect Qatari national values and MOE ethics.

Compensation
