Aldar Education is seeking a Head of Creative and Performative Arts for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, with the role commencing in the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the School's vision, mission, and commitment to high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Create, manage, and evaluate short, medium, and long-term development plans for the department.
  • Use data effectively to identify students at risk of underperformance in the department and create action plans to support their needs.
  • Analyze and interpret relevant school data, alongside research and inspection results, to inform policies, practices, expectations, targets, and teaching methods.
  • Ensure the ongoing development and evaluation of suitable schemes of work for all year groups and courses, addressing the needs of SEN, G&T, and EAL students.
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department for all students, including those with special educational needs and high-ability learners.
  • Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, using findings to recognize effective practices and areas needing enhancement; implement measures to improve the overall educational quality.
  • Contribute to the school's CAS Programme by leading or assisting in one after-school activity each term (CAS includes I/GCSE and IB DP Revision/Booster Sessions).
  • Act as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13 students.
  • Provide coverage for absent colleagues and supervise examinations as needed, including participating in at least one evening and one weekend external examination session, in support of the Examinations Officer and Summer Examination Schedule.
  • Accept any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area, along with a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
  • Prior experience working with students for whom English is a second language.

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to nurturing the holistic development of each child.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance.
