South View School is seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our growing department. The ideal candidate will possess high-level subject expertise, ideally up to A Level and Further Maths, but who also recognise that the journey to advanced success begins with a rigorous and engaging Key Stage 3 foundation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Excellence in Teaching & Learning
Deliver outstanding Mathematics lessons, ensuring students develop both a deep conceptual understanding and a passion for the subject.
Adapt complex mathematical concepts into digestible, engaging learning steps suitable for the KS3 cognitive stage.
Maintain a classroom environment that challenges all learners, from those requiring additional support to high-attaining pupils.
2. Strategic Use of Data & Assessment
Use formative and summative data to monitor the progress of each cohort, ensuring every student is on a trajectory to meet or exceed their potential.
Implement timely interventions based on data trends to ensure no student falls behind during these critical foundational years.
3. High-Level Subject Expertise
Maintain a deep understanding of the curriculum up to A Level to ensure the KS3 curriculum is "backward-planned" with the highest academic rigour.
Provide "stretch and challenge" for high-attaining KS3 pupils, introducing them to advanced logic and higher-level thinking skills early.
4. Inclusion & Pastoral Support
Demonstrate an expert understanding of how to support students with additional needs (SEND), ensuring an inclusive and accessible curriculum for all.
Apply strong pastoral skills to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students across the school.
5. Enrichment & Professional Development
Lead and participate in enrichment activities (such as Maths Challenges or STEM clubs) to promote the profile of Mathematics throughout the school.

6. Qualifications
Hold a recognised degree with a recognised teaching qualification.
