  • Oversee the maintenance of buildings, grounds, plant and equipment, ensuring issues are identified and resolved efficiently.
  • Carry out hands-on repairs, fault diagnosis and minor works within your level of competence.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos, COSHH and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate contractors and planned maintenance programmes, ensuring work is delivered safely, effectively and to agreed standards.
  • Take responsibility for site security arrangements, including alarms, access control, keys and emergency procedures.
  • Support business continuity planning and respond effectively to emergencies, incidents and operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate compliance, maintenance and expenditure records while supporting budget management and long-term asset planning.
What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in site, facilities, estates or building maintenance management.
  • Experience of leading and developing teams in a busy operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, fault finding and practical problem solving.
  • A good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
  • Experience of managing contractors and monitoring service quality and performance.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and digital compliance or maintenance systems.
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Why Join Astrea?
  • Competitive Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Access to excellent professional development opportunities.
  • A collaborative and supportive Trust-wide network.
  • The opportunity to make a significant impact across two thriving academies.
  • A varied role combining leadership, operational management and practical site expertise.
