JOB SUMMARY:

The Teacher of Science (Maternity Cover) will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching, through planning and delivering engaging lessons to enable all students to make the best possible progress. The Teacher of Science must be able to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and communicate this in an enthusiastic and imaginative way. In addition, they will be expected to contribute to the development, and extra-curricular life, of the school, as well as that of the department.  Please see the attached Job Description for more details on the role.

The contract for the Maternity Cover role will be from August to December 2026.

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have:

  • An appropriate degree, with PGCE, or other equivalent teaching qualification

  • Minimum three years teaching experience

  • A hard-working, positive, flexible and solution-focused attitude to working life 

  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities  

  • A mindset of continuous Professional Learning and improvement.

Experience of teaching Biology is desirable.

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
