About This Role

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning
• Create and implement engaging, well-structured lessons across the primary curriculum (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PSHCE, etc.) that align with the British National Curriculum standards.
• Cultivate an inspiring and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and academic growth.
• Use assessments effectively to monitor, track, and support student progress, customizing learning experiences to fit individual needs.
• Uphold high behavioral standards, embodying the school's values while helping students foster positive attitudes towards learning.
• Integrate talk-rich learning, vocabulary development, and reading across all subject areas.

Curriculum & Assessment
• Assist in developing long-term planning, unit outlines, and curriculum progression for your assigned year group.
• Implement both formative and summative assessments to inform future instruction and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Engage in moderation processes, internal assessments, and communication with parents.
• Facilitate the integration of cross-curricular approaches, incorporating literacy, numeracy, digital learning, and inquiry-based methods.

Pastoral Care & Well-being
• Provide daily pastoral support for the class, addressing students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
• Build strong relationships with students, fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative classroom environment.
• Work with the pastoral team to identify and support students requiring additional learning, social, emotional, or safeguarding assistance.
• Maintain effective communication with parents through regular updates, meetings, and formal reporting.

Professional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with colleagues in planning, co-teaching, and sharing best practices within and across year groups.
• Participate in staff meetings, INSET days, parent engagement events, curriculum evenings, and various professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to the formulation of school policies, improvement initiatives, and academic standards throughout the primary school.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, behavior, and safeguarding issues.

Co-Curricular & School Contribution
• Lead or support co-curricular activities, clubs, and events as part of the school's enrichment offerings.
• Engage in school performances, assemblies, themed weeks, open days, and community activities.
• Support the House system and work towards fostering a positive school culture.

Operational Duties
• Ensure that the classroom is organized, safe, and well-equipped, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Keep planning, assessment records, and documentation current as required by the school.
• Collaborate professionally with Teaching Assistants and specialist educators.

• Always act in the best interests of students, prioritizing their safety, happiness, and overall development.
• Uphold and promote the values of RGSPP.
• Exemplify and adhere to the RGSPP Code of Conduct and professional standards.

Compensation
