Position Overview
ULIS is seeking an inspiring and experienced IB Geography Teacher to join the Secondary School team. The ideal candidate fosters meaningful student relationships, embraces inquiry‑driven pedagogy, and is committed to delivering high‑quality, international education within a diverse, multicultural environment.
The role includes teaching IB DP Geography and may include additional Middle or High School Geography classes depending on scheduling.
Key responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Deliver high‑quality, engaging Geography lessons using inquiry‑based, developmental, and constructivist approaches.
Design, develop, and refine Geography curriculum materials that integrate global perspectives and meet IB expectations. Use diverse teaching methodologies to respond to different learning styles and capabilities within a multicultural Student body.
Incorporate technology seamlessly into instruction, supporting ULIS's emphasis on technology‑enhanced and personalized learning.
Assessment & Feedback
Assess student progress using varied formative and summative strategies aligned with IB assessment standards.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families regarding academic development.
Classroom Culture & Pastoral Care
Create an inclusive, supportive, and safe classroom environment that celebrates diversity and fosters a love of learning.
Uphold ULIS’s strong commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and ethical conduct.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, integrated educational experience across subjects.
Participate in schoolwide initiatives, committees, and extracurricular activities.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with IB standards and global best practices in Geography education.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a closely related field.
Recognized teaching certification.
Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level; IB DP Geography experience strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Strong English proficiency (ULIS instructional language).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to curriculum development and intervention support for students.
