Grade 1-5 Movement & Arts Educator (0.42 FTE)
The Grade 1-5 Movement & Arts Educator is committed to Waldorf education and inspires a love for learning in children and young adults. The ideal applicant will oversee a classroom of up to 30 students and demonstrate strong organizational and classroom management skills.
Position Overview
The Grade 1-5 Movement & Arts Educator will teach Physical & Health Education, Arts Education (including dance), and English Language Arts for Grades 1-5 at the Vancouver Waldorf School. Responsibilities associated with the Movement & Arts teaching position include, but are not limited to: planning lessons and preparing the classroom; conducting classes for Grades 1-5; evaluating student performance; and preparing reports. Furthermore, the Movement & Arts Educator will be expected to participate in faculty meetings, act as a communication link for parents, and engage in all school events.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- BC Teacher Certification
- Preferred: 5 or more years of experience in Waldorf Class Teaching
- Waldorf Training Certificate
- Proficient in both written and spoken English
- Strong organizational abilities
- Experience with children aged 6 to 12 years
- Proficient in word processing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow Faculty, volunteers, and parents
Employment Terms: This is a permanent, part-time role (0.42 FTE). Specific working days and hours will be detailed in the employment agreement.
Compensation: The salary ranges from $53,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually, prorated to FTE based on experience and qualifications.
