Position Overview:

Specialisation in Psychology:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB curriculum, fostering critical thinking and analysis.
  • Assess student understanding through diverse evaluation methods, including projects and reflective assignments.
  • Encourage discussions that deepen understanding of psychological principles, incorporating contemporary research and case studies.
  • Facilitate workshops on mental health topics to promote student well-being.

Specialisation in Humanities:

  • Develop interactive lessons exploring cultural, social, and ethical issues.
  • Use varied assessment techniques to evaluate progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Facilitate collaborative projects that engage students with real-world issues, integrating interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Organise field trips or guest speaker sessions to enhance learning experiences.

Specialisation in History:

  • Design compelling lessons focusing on inquiry-based learning within the IB framework.
  • Assess student learning through essays and presentations, encouraging critical analysis of historical events.
  • Incorporate primary sources to deepen understanding and promote historical debates that challenge student viewpoints.

Specialisation in Geography:

  • Create engaging lessons on physical, human, and environmental processes.
  • Use diverse assessment strategies to evaluate understanding and application of geographical concepts.
  • Foster data analysis skills for interpreting geographical information effectively, while encouraging fieldwork that connects theory to real-world geography.

Specialisation in Business & Economics:

  • Plan dynamic lessons focusing on real-world applications and case studies.
  • Assess student progress through reports and presentations, promoting critical thinking and ethical considerations.
  • Integrate simulations and role-playing activities for practical business decision-making, staying updated on global economic trends for contemporary relevance.

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
  • An understanding of the MYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
  • Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
