Clarence International School in Tokyo is seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as Assistant Head of Pre-Prep at an exciting stage in the school’s development. This is an exciting time to join Clarence International School, as the school prepares to move to a new campus in the heart of Central Tokyo in April 2026. This is an opportunity to play a central leadership role in shaping the future of a growing and ambitious British Pre-Prep school in the heart of Tokyo.

The Assistant Head of Pre-Prep will be the senior leader on site, responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, and development of the school. Working closely with the Head of School and Board of Directors, the successful candidate will lead staff, oversee operations, and ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care for our youngest pupils.

We are seeking an outstanding Early Years or Pre-Prep educator with proven leadership ability, excellent judgement, and a genuine passion for working with young children. The successful candidate will combine warmth and kindness with clarity, professionalism, and high expectations, and will be excited by the opportunity to help build and shape an exceptional school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Pre-Prep department.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in an Early Years or Pre-Prep setting.
