Why Romania Is Europe's Hidden Gem

Romania has emerged as one of the most surprising destinations on the international teaching map. Bucharest's international school sector is booming, driven by multinational companies establishing regional HQs and a growing Romanian middle class seeking English-medium education. The country hosts approximately 25 international schools, mainly in Bucharest with smaller clusters in Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara.

The cost of living is the lowest in the EU, the natural landscapes are stunning, and the people are warm and welcoming. Romania offers a genuine European experience at a fraction of Western European prices.

Key Insight: Romania delivers the highest purchasing power of any European teaching destination. A mid-career salary buys you a lifestyle comparable to a senior professional in London.
