About This Role

Join the team at Beacon Hill Academy as a motivated Science Teacher. In this role, you will create engaging lessons that spark curiosity and ensure strong learning outcomes for all students. Collaborating with subject specialists, you will design a comprehensive, knowledge-driven curriculum, employ evidence-based teaching methods, and contribute to ongoing improvements. We provide excellent Continuing Professional Development (CPD), clear career advancement opportunities, and a supportive leadership structure. As part of our collaborative Trust, you will enjoy exceptional professional growth, supportive leadership, and numerous opportunities to advance your career. If you are committed to making a meaningful difference and fostering an exciting learning atmosphere, we invite you to apply.

Beacon Hill Academy is situated in Woodsetton, just east of Sedgley. It is the largest academy within the Trust, with over 1,100 students enrolled. The academy operates at full capacity in Year 7 and attracts pupils from a wide array of primary schools in a densely populated area. Since 2019, our GCSE results have demonstrated improvements in both student attainment and progress, with a notable increase in the number of students achieving Grade 5 or above in English and Mathematics.

One of the benefits of our size is the extensive staff dedicated to learner support and a well-rounded pastoral care system. The academy features its own Autistic Spectrum (AS) Base, staffed by trained professionals who provide the additional support and care that AS learners may need. We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, the arts, and enriching experiences such as trips to Oxbridge Universities, skiing in Italy, and visits to WWI battlefields, China, and Silicon Valley.

As a Trust, we operate with a strong centralization approach, ensuring all our systems and processes are aligned. Our initiatives are developed collaboratively, involving numerous professionals and experts who work together across the Trust to deliver the highest quality of education for our learners.

Teaching and Learning is enhanced by a dedicated central team of Subject Directors, who are experienced educators with leadership and mentoring capabilities. They support teachers across our academies in personal development, data analysis, and curriculum planning, focusing on areas such as Mathematics, Science, Reading, Writing, and History.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, April 19, 2026; however, we reserve the right to close this vacancy sooner than the advertised date.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure and barring service check, as well as checks against the children and adults barred list, if their role involves regulated activity.

Dudley Academies Trust is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities and those from Black and ethnic minority groups.
