We are seeking a committed receptionist to become part of our welcoming and supportive team at Yate Academy, which is a member of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
About the role:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, welcoming and directing them appropriately.
- Ensure the safety of our students by verifying identification and issuing the necessary lanyards.
- Address inquiries from staff, parents, students, and the wider community.
- Respond to questions regarding student timetables.
- Provide basic first aid to students as needed.
- Handle postal responsibilities, including sorting, recording, and franking outgoing mail using an online system, as well as receiving, recording, and organizing the distribution of parcels and deliveries.
- Manage and sort lost property for students.
- Act as a central hub for the distribution and collection of student correspondence.
- Assist the school in organizing trips.
- Reset the fire alarm and coordinate with relevant staff in response to emergency alarms.
- Order equipment as required by the school.
Telephone duties include:
- Operating the central switchboard.
- Routing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Addressing initial complaints and resolving them when possible, or directing them to the correct staff member.
- Covering the retrieval and distribution of central voicemail messages in the absence of the designated staff member.
- Collecting telephone contacts on behalf of staff.
