We are actively seeking a passionate Middle School Math & Computer (IT) Teacher to join our Mathematics Department. This position will focus on teaching Pre-Algebra and Integrated Math, aligned with the Common Core curriculum, inspiring students to develop strong analytical and problem-solving abilities while incorporating elements of computer literacy.

Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Education, or a related discipline (minimum requirement)
- At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level
- Comprehensive understanding of Algebra in accordance with Common Core standards
- Strong foundation in computer science and IT concepts suitable for middle school learners
- Ability to seamlessly integrate technology into teaching methodologies
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Familiarity with educational software and digital tools

MORE BENEFITS/DETAILS:

-Children: Can attend TYIS at no cost, excluding any ancillary fees (such as bus or uniform fees, if applicable).

-Company Insurance: Includes Health and Dental coverage. Typically, this follows an 80/20 cost-sharing model, where the insurance covers 80% of costs and the employee is responsible for the remaining 20%.

-Taxes and Salary deductions include:

Health Insurance, Employment Insurance, Workers' Compensation, Pension, Income Tax, Residence Tax

-Paid leave:

Starting at 10 days annually, with increases over time. There are approximately 3 months of seasonal breaks when on-campus attendance is not required.

-Local transportation:

Reimbursements for daily commuting expenses during the academic year.

-Opportunities for additional pay:

Available through seasonal programs.

-General Relocation Allowance:

(Outside of Japan) 200,000 yen (with required receipts for reimbursement—please retain all receipts).

-Visa assistance:

We cover the expenses for the Certificate of Entry.

ALL STAFF:

-Tokyo YMCA boasts a campsite at Yamanaka (near Mount Fuji), where we organize a fall trip.

-In the winter, we plan a ski trip (location may vary).

-Compensation will be provided for these trips.

-You are not required to work during Saturday school, as it operates independently.

-1 US $ is roughly ¥154 (based on current exchange rates).

-Housing costs for two individuals in Tokyo range from ¥80,000 to ¥130,000 per month, depending on accommodation size, and are generally lower if farther from the school.

-The average lunch cost is about ¥800 to ¥1,100 at a restaurant, or less if you opt for a lunch box near our school (school lunch is also available at a lower price).

-Dinner expenses are roughly ¥2,000 to ¥4,000 for two people.

-The average monthly salary for teachers in Japan is approximately ¥375,000.
