Job Title: Head of Maths
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Up to £43,635 per annum

About the Role
In your role as Head of Maths, you will:
- Ensure effective communication with the Examinations Officer, Data Manager, parents, and senior leadership, meeting all deadlines and requests.
- Manage the daily administration and staff within the department, assisting NQTs and supply staff, and participating in staff recruitment.
- Drive the quality of teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4, including overseeing schemes of work, lesson planning, pupil grouping, and curriculum delivery.
- Evaluate departmental performance through data analysis, lesson observations, work scrutiny, and regular performance assessments.
- Provide updates on departmental development and pupil performance to SLT and external partners as necessary.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the department.
- Organize extra-curricular opportunities, subject competitions, House events, and outreach initiatives to enhance pupil engagement and promote excellence.
- Ensure the timely and accurate submission of examination entries, working closely with the SENDCo and Academic Support to guarantee full pupil access to the curriculum.
- Lead departmental and moderation meetings, sharing best practices and ensuring that classrooms are well-maintained with current displays.
- Fulfill Form Tutor duties and undertake any reasonable additional responsibilities as assigned by the Headteacher or Deputy Head.
