About This Role
Repton Dubai is looking to hire a Graduate Boarding Assistant (Boys or Girls House) to start in August 2026.
In this role, the graduate boarding assistant will act in loco parentis, assuming responsibility for the health, welfare, and safety of the boarding students. Working closely with the Head of Boarding and the boarding team, they will serve as the primary point of contact between parents and the school while on duty, ensuring that the Head of Boarding and other staff are kept informed about relevant matters concerning the students.
A successful graduate boarding assistant will need to show empathy towards young people, possess a good sense of humor, and have a genuine interest in contributing to their personal growth. At times, the chosen candidate must be firm and uphold necessary conduct rules while applying behavioral sanctions in a fair and consistent manner.

Skills, Experience & Responsibilities:
Pupils:
1. Act in loco parentis for all pupils within the house, ensuring their health, safety, happiness, and overall well-being is prioritized.
2. Understand and identify the individual circumstances, needs, strengths, and personal challenges of each student to foster their talents and potential.
3. Carry out scheduled weeknight and weekend duties, including planning and leading weekend outings.
4. Be aware of students’ academic strengths and weaknesses; collaborate with Heads of Boarding, boarding staff, teachers, and tutors to ensure their backgrounds are understood and that evening prep conditions support effective academic progress.
5. Provide guidance for students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
6. Immediately report any child protection concerns to the Safeguard Lead, adhering to the school's child protection and safeguarding policy.
Management:
1. Ensure parents and pupils grasp the aims and objectives of boarding in the house, as well as the principles guiding community life.
2. Collaborate with school nurses, doctors, and residential boarding staff to ensure students' medical needs are met and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
3. Work with the boarding team and housekeeping staff to promote respect for personal belongings and the furnishings of the house.
4. Foster open communication with pupils; ensure that family-related incidents and issues are communicated to relevant parties.
5. Ensure that all boarding staff members (including non-teaching personnel and senior pupils when appropriate) are familiar with the school's policies on child protection, bullying prevention, substance misuse, and health and safety, and understand the necessary responses.
6. Together with other boarding staff, guarantee that the boarding house is sufficiently staffed, covering duties and being available for emergencies as needed.
Child Protection:
Complete appropriate child protection training before starting work in the boarding house.
Participate in induction training with the Head of Boarding and Assistant Head of Boarding prior to beginning responsibilities in the boarding house.
Adhere to and implement the Schools Safeguarding Policy.
Administration:
Stay informed about the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools concerning the welfare and pastoral care of boarding students.
Maintain up-to-date boarding records in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
Conditions of Appointment:
Residence is required in the provided accommodation within the boarding house. Full board and lodging in a one-bedroom apartment will be supplied.
Within School Role:
The Graduate Boarding Assistant will also support the Senior School during standard school hours and may be asked to assist with some or all of the following:
• Lead or support an Extra-Curricular Activity when appropriate.
• Offer support to the pastoral team as a pastoral manager.
• Provide cover support within the school as needed.
• Fulfill three break/lunch duties weekly.
• Engage with boarding student teachers and remain active in school life.
