About This Role

The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is an exceptional institution located in a beautiful area. As an HMC school, we recently received an outstanding evaluation from a British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection, excelling in areas such as educational quality, safeguarding, student welfare, and academic results.

BSB serves a large and diverse population of students aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is aligned with the English National Curriculum, providing an extensive array of GCSEs, A levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, complemented by a robust enrichment program.

With over 2,000 students from more than 74 different nationalities, BSB employs over 315 staff members across three campuses. We are excited to announce plans for a new state-of-the-art campus in Maresme, east of Barcelona city, set to open in 2026. Initially, this campus will accommodate students from Nursery to Year 6, expanding to Year 13 by 2028. This new facility will feature modern classrooms, science laboratories, fully equipped music and art spaces, dedicated areas for play, socializing, and studying, as well as indoor and outdoor sports facilities, all situated in a stunning environment with mountains and coastline as a backdrop.

BSB has built a strong reputation for providing an exceptional student experience, which is reflected in our academic achievements and our commitment to character building and fostering a global mindset. We continuously seek improvement, as evidenced by our dedication to teacher development through active professional learning communities and reflective practices.

As we continue to grow, we are in search of an outstanding individual to join our team. If you are looking to be part of something remarkable and advance your career, we would love to hear from you.

Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Primary Language Teacher (Spanish and Catalan) to join our exceptional team.

About Cognita:
Cognita is a leading global provider of independent education. Established in 2004, we are a flourishing community of over 90 schools in 21 countries, including Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, serving more than 100,000 students. While each of our schools has its own unique identity, we share a common goal: to create an environment where everyone can "Thrive in a rapidly evolving world."

At Cognita, we recognize that every student is distinct. We nurture their individual personalities and strengths, offering support academically, socially, and emotionally, regardless of location or starting point. Each school under our umbrella is also distinct in its own right.

About the Role:
Starting in September 2026, we are looking for an exceptional Primary Language Teacher (Spanish and Catalan) to join us at the BSB Maresme Campus. We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic educator who will collaborate within the Primary phase and exhibit a strong grasp of effective language acquisition for both Spanish and Catalan, capable of delivering the LOMLOE curriculum under the Generalitat framework.

The Primary Language Teacher will conduct engaging, structured, and progressive language lessons aimed at fostering confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Effective assessment practices will be employed to support language growth and ensure all students achieve meaningful progress.

You will be part of a committed, enthusiastic, and inspiring team that values high academic standards while embracing the opportunities presented by an international environment. A commitment to the broader life of the school is a fundamental expectation of this role. Please note that relevant qualifications and prior experience are essential for this position.

Outside the classroom, you will contribute to school-wide priorities, collaborate with colleagues, and uphold top safeguarding standards. This position offers an exciting chance to join a vibrant, innovative school where creativity and excellence are at the core of our mission.

Please be aware that this is a part-time role.

Who We Are Looking For:
• An enthusiastic and dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an internationally recognized equivalent certified by the Spanish Ministry of Education, along with a C2 certificate in Catalan.
• You possess considerable experience in primary education and demonstrate the resilience and adaptability needed to thrive in a dynamic, start-up school setting.
• You are a proactive individual who excels both independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills and a growth-oriented mindset.

If you are passionate about guiding students toward success and are eager to innovate in your teaching methods, we would love to hear from you.
