About This Role

Launch your teaching journey at the esteemed Uppingham Cairo by participating in our innovative Early Career Teacher Development programme.

In your inaugural year at Uppingham Cairo, you will serve as a co-teacher in the Junior School, collaborating closely with a seasoned Form Teacher who will support and mentor you as you hone your teaching abilities and gain valuable experience. While the Form Teacher manages the class, you will embark on a fully funded Accredited Early Career Teacher Training programme. This programme is designed to help you build confidence and expertise in a nurturing environment, allowing you to flourish in your initial teaching days. With class sizes capped at 12 students, you will have ample opportunity to connect personally with each child under your care.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who exhibit the requisite skills and dedication during their first year will be elevated to the role of Junior School Form Teacher in Year 2, assuming complete responsibility for their class. You will benefit from specialized instruction in subjects like French, Spanish, PE, Arabic, Music, Swimming, and Drama, allowing you to continue enjoying teaching while receiving the necessary support to deliver a top-tier educational experience to every student as you complete your induction programme.

As an ECT at Uppingham Cairo, you will gain access to a wide array of benefits aimed at enhancing both your professional and personal well-being. You will receive a competitive salary package, ensuring your financial well-being. Additional perks include high-quality accommodation, comprehensive private healthcare, membership to our sports centre, balanced meals while on duty, and convenient transport to and from school during term time—all contributing to the healthy and fulfilling lifestyle we prioritize for every member of our community. Moreover, families can benefit from full Day Boarder scholarships for up to two dependents at Uppingham Cairo, allowing your children to experience the advantages of a prestigious British Independent School education without the burden of fees.

To apply, please complete the Uppingham Cairo Application Form and submit it alongside a supporting cover letter via email to recruitment26@uppinghamcairo.com. Kindly refrain from applying online, as such applications will not be considered.

Make sure to fill out the application form thoroughly, including the names and contact information of two professional referees, one of whom should be your current or most recent head teacher (if applicable). While CVs may be included with your application and cover letter, they are not mandatory.
