The Role
RGSPP is on the lookout for an inspiring and seasoned Head of English to guide a vibrant and ambitious department that includes English, EAL, and Drama, delivering programs across English Language, English Literature, EAL, IELTS, IGCSE, and A Level.

This role entails strategic leadership with a significant impact across the school. In addition to overseeing a core academic department, the Head of English will:

- Propel the school-wide literacy strategy, assisting staff in integrating effective reading, writing, and communication practices throughout the curriculum.
- Champion EAL-inclusive teaching methods, identifying training needs for staff and ensuring that educators in all subjects are well-prepared to support multilingual learners.
- Supervise and manage the school libraries, ensuring that collections, resources, and reading environments meet student needs, curriculum requirements, and international best practices.

The ideal candidate will:

- Lead and nurture a high-performing team across English, EAL, and Drama.
- Design an engaging English curriculum from Primary through Sixth Form, focused on ensuring strong progression and outcomes.
- Implement rigorous assessment, tracking, and intervention systems.
- Foster a vibrant culture of reading, communication, performance, and creativity throughout the school.
- Contribute to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life at RGSPP, promoting the school's framework of Discovery, Opportunity, Virtue, and Excellence (DOVE), while embodying our guiding motto: “Ready to Grow, Committed to Learn, and Kind to All.”
