About This Role

ISR International School on the Rhine is a private, coeducational institution catering to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. With a non-selective admissions policy, the school boasts an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students representing over 52 nationalities. ISR is accredited as an Anerkannte Internationale Ergänzungsschule (International Supplementary School) by German authorities and by the US accreditation organization Cognia™. As an IB World School, ISR offers the IB Diploma Programme and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE courses. The school is also a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

We are actively seeking elementary school teachers to join our ISR campus, with the position commencing in August 2026. This role is based at our well-established ISR campus and presents a fantastic opportunity to thrive within our dynamic school community.

During the initial application and interview stages, candidates will have the opportunity to explore the potential of joining the founding team for our new elementary school set to open in Düsseldorf in August 2027. Those interested in this pathway may be offered the chance to transition to the Düsseldorf campus upon its opening, becoming integral members of the team responsible for developing the culture, learning environment, and community at this new location.

Key Skills
· Strong subject knowledge and engaging teaching experience in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies for elementary grades (1–6)

· Demonstrated excellence in classroom and pedagogical practices

· Dedication to achieving the highest standards in teaching and learning

· High expectations for student achievement, behavior, and well-being

· Proficiency with modern educational technology, including AI-enhanced tools that support teaching, learning, and assessment

· A collaborative and innovative mindset, particularly suited for contributing to a new school campus if desired

Responsibilities
· Design and implement lessons for core subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies

· Assist students in achieving their learning goals while fostering their overall progress and well-being

· Promote the social, emotional, and mental well-being of students in a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere

· Maintain regular communication with parents, including during parent–teacher conferences

· Participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and events as needed

· Provide extracurricular activities that enhance the educational offerings of the school

Additional Requirements
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education (or equivalent)

· At least two years of experience as the lead teacher in an elementary classroom

· A passion for inspiring students and fostering positive collaboration with colleagues

· Commitment to high academic standards and international education

· Capability to utilize assessments to support ongoing learning and deliver timely, relevant feedback

· Strong classroom management skills and an understanding of the academic, social, and emotional aspects of learning

· Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary/Lower Secondary program is advantageous

· Experience teaching Art, Music, Theatre, or Computer Science at the elementary level is a plus
