Dubai English Speaking Schools (DESS) is looking to hire a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), with a starting date in August 2026.

About You

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in a related discipline. They should have substantial experience as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), either currently in this role or having previously worked in a large secondary school setting. A robust knowledge of statutory SEND regulations, inclusive educational practices, and evidence-based methods for catering to the diverse needs of learners is vital.

The candidate must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SEN Coordination or
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • International Award in SEN Qualification (iSENCo)

This ensures that they have the accredited expertise needed to effectively guide and improve the school’s SEND services with professionalism and diligence.
