SALARY: FROM $46,527 TO $92,027 BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The Professional Cooking program is designed to provide students with the essential skills required to enter the culinary profession. Future chefs will learn to effectively prepare mise en place, plan for service, and organize for efficient service. They will also be trained to comply with hygiene, food safety, and occupational health regulations; cook a diverse range of foods; present dishes according to industry standards; prepare, season, and store hors d’oeuvres, soups, meats, fish, vegetables, sauces, desserts, and other culinary items by following specific protocols; and create menus for various dining experiences including table d’hôte menus, à la carte options, and buffets. The Board reserves the right to waive any of the stated qualification requirements if a candidate, who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement, is deemed suitable and agrees to adhere to a training plan established by the Board as a condition of employment.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Proficiency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English, and French);
· Experience in adult education;
· Experience teaching multi-level classes.
ASSETS:
· Knowledge of and experience with the MEES programs;
· Background in teaching English and French as a second language;
· Familiarity with the Moodle platform.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Salary and benefits are provided in accordance with the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board, ranging from $46,527 to $92,027 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits will be prorated according to the percentage of the task. In addition to salary, potential benefits include:
