Senior Class Teacher

Yaldhurst School – Tōtara Tūkaha is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our team in a full-time, fixed-term maternity leave position teaching a senior class. The position will begin Term 3 2026 and continue until the end of Term 2 2027 (with the possibility of extension until the end of Term 4 2027).

The Role

The successful applicant will:

• build strong and positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau
• demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum – Mathematics and Statistics and New Zealand Curriculum – English Learning Area, and the ability to implement these effectively in classroom programmes
• provide innovative learning opportunities that will engage senior students
• be enthusiastic about teaching this age group
• have classroom management that is aligned with PB4L and restorative practices
• integrate digital technology
• be committed to culturally responsive practice and inclusive education
• hold a current New Zealand Teacher Registration.
