Position Overview
The One World International School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary School English Teacher to join our international team. The successful candidate will teach English across the primary grades, following the Cambridge Primary curriculum, and will play a crucial role in helping students develop strong literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
At TOWIS, educators are responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, closely tracking student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support improvement. As many of our students are learning English as an additional language, it is vital for teachers to effectively nurture language development while maintaining rigorous academic standards.
We are looking for a teacher who values a holistic educational approach and is enthusiastic about engaging with the wider school community, including participating in assemblies, events, projects, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach English throughout the primary years in accordance with the Cambridge curriculum
• Develop stimulating lessons that improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities
• Employ a comprehensive synthetic phonics method for phonics instruction
• Create lesson plans that accommodate students with diverse abilities and language skills
• Utilize assessment and academic data to inform lesson planning, teaching strategies, and targeted student assistance
• Continuously assess student progress and deliver clear, actionable feedback
• Maintain a positive and well-structured classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school's growth initiatives
• Actively participate in the wider school community
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent preferred)
• Minimum of two years of experience teaching at the primary level
• Experience in teaching English to primary school students
• Strong understanding and practical experience with synthetic phonics
• Proficiency in using assessment and academic data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
• Teaching methods aligned with UK Teachers’ Standards and/or Cambridge Teaching Standards
• Native English speaker with excellent communication skills
