About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Deliver the prescribed curriculum, showcasing a thorough and current understanding of both the curriculum and the subject matter.
* Design and implement engaging lessons to inspire students, utilizing suitable resources and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles.
* Provide written evidence of lesson planning and preparations when requested. Maintain organized records of curriculum outlines, yearly plans, attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and more.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Instruct students according to their unique needs through tailored teaching strategies that address diverse abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, students with low academic performance, and those who are gifted and talented.
* Assign and evaluate work, documenting and reporting on students’ academic progress and achievements. Utilize assessments to ensure the curriculum aligns with each student's needs.
* Exhibit proficiency in incorporating media and technology within the classroom environment.
* Foster the overall development and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.
* Engage with external stakeholders, such as Ministry of Education officials, when necessary.
* Take part in evaluation and Performance Management processes, alongside ongoing professional development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues to create and enhance teaching materials, resources, curricula, and pastoral care arrangements.
* Participate in, and lead when appropriate, the school's co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Cultivate positive working relationships by actively sharing ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Oversee and promote safe, appropriate student behavior, developing strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruptive actions.
* Model and advance cultural awareness and understanding, while fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in organizing and planning school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, plays, and award ceremonies.
* Regularly communicate with parents, advocating the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep them informed about their child's progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student information.
* Demonstrate commitment by investing extra effort and energy beyond regular working hours when tasks necessitate additional dedication.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
