Vietnam-Australia School, Hanoi (VAS Hanoi) is a bilingual institution that provides a dual curriculum, encompassing both the Vietnamese National Curriculum and the Cambridge Checkpoint Primary, Cambridge Checkpoint Lower Secondary, along with select Cambridge IGCSE subjects.

About the Job

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and fully qualified teacher for our Humanities subjects. The role involves teaching Society & Culture (Australian Curriculum), Cambridge Global Perspectives, and some ESL classes (Cambridge curriculum) across Lower Secondary and High School.

Our curriculum integrates both the Cambridge Pathway and aspects of the Australian Curriculum, therefore, applicants should possess relevant experience with international curricula. Candidates with experience in Key Stage 3–4 and/or senior secondary education will be given preference.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about teaching, hold the necessary qualifications, and are committed to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment.

Preferred applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Science, History, Human Geography, Cultural Studies, or a related discipline, along with an appropriate teaching qualification.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that align with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework and Australian Curriculum standards.
  • Developing and implementing subject-specific Schemes of Work.
  • Tailoring class activities, tasks, and lesson materials to accommodate the diverse needs of students.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching methods (including interactive strategies and game-based activities) to promote engagement and facilitate learning.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment with clear standards and expectations.
  • Designing and conducting regular formative and summative assessments in accordance with the school calendar.
  • Providing clear and consistent feedback to students.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues, homeroom teachers, and parents to ensure support for all students.
  • Communicating with teachers, parents, or guardians regarding student progress and addressing any behavioral or academic issues.
  • Participating in meetings and school events.
  • Assisting with extracurricular activities and school festivals as needed.
  • Carrying out general professional and administrative responsibilities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Native-level English speaker
  • A subject-specific Bachelor’s degree (Sociology, Social Science, History, Human Geography, Cultural Studies, or related field)
  • A professional teaching qualification (Teaching License / PGCE with QTS, or a Bachelor of Education in a relevant subject)
  • At least 2 years of professional teaching experience
  • Experience with international curricula (preferably Cambridge and/or Australian)
  • Knowledge and experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) learners

Compensation
