Crescendo HELP International School is currently seeking an experienced educator in the Humanities discipline.

Requirements:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Humanities teacher to instruct History and Geography, including the ability to teach Geography at the IGCSE level, to join our team of four full-time specialist teachers. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and a PGCE, with a minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience. We are proud of our strong faculty and are eager to enhance our current expertise. The Humanities department also includes commerce subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • a) Strategic Direction and Development of the Subject:
    • Develop and implement policies and practices that reflect the school’s dedication to high achievement through effective teaching and learning.
    • Motivate and support fellow staff while fostering a shared understanding of their contributions to all aspects of student life.
    • Utilize relevant school, local, and national data to inform targets for development and improvement for individuals and groups of students.
    • Create subject plans that outline clear targets, timelines, and success criteria for development or maintenance in alignment with the school’s development/improvement plan.
    • Monitor progress and assess the impact on teaching and learning by collaborating with colleagues, analyzing work, and outcomes.
    • Schedule at least one meeting monthly with Secondary Staff in your department and provide feedback to the Senior Leadership Team regarding these developments.
  • b) Ensuring the Highest Quality of Learning and Teaching:
    • Exemplify high-quality learning and teaching practices in the subject area and with various groups.
    • Ensure continuity and progression in the subject by aiding colleagues in selecting appropriate teaching sequences and methods, and setting clear learning objectives through an agreed-upon scheme of work.
    • Establish clear achievement targets for the subject and evaluate progress using appropriate assessments and records, along with regular yearly data analysis with the Assistant Principal for Primary and Secondary.
    • Foster effective connections with the local community as appropriate.
    • Ensure teachers understand the implications of equality of opportunity that the subject presents.
  • c) Leading and Managing Staff:
    • Empower all teachers to develop expertise in planning and teaching the subject through modeling, support, and providing high-quality professional development opportunities.
    • Keep the Senior Leadership Team and Governors well informed about policies, plans, priorities, and targets for the subject.
  • d) Effective Deployment of Resources:
    • Support the School by managing resources effectively.
