Crescendo-HELP International School is currently seeking to appoint an experienced educator in the Humanities subject area.
Requirements:
We are looking for a passionate teacher of Humanities who can instruct in History and Geography, and is also qualified to teach Geography at the IGCSE level, to join our dedicated team of four full-time specialist teachers. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and a PGCE, with a minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification teaching experience. We have a strong existing team and are eager to enhance our expertise further. Additionally, commerce subjects are also included in our Humanities faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
- a) Strategic Direction and Development of the Subject:
- Formulate and execute policies and practices that align with the school’s commitment to achieving high standards through effective teaching and learning.
- Inspire and support fellow staff members, fostering a collective understanding of their roles in enhancing all facets of student life.
- Utilize pertinent local, national, and school data to set developmental targets for both individuals and groups of students.
- Create subject plans that specify clear objectives, timelines, and success indicators for development or maintenance in accordance with the school’s improvement plan.
- Assess progress and evaluate impacts on teaching and learning by collaborating with colleagues, analyzing student work and outcomes.
- Hold at least one monthly meeting with Secondary Staff in your Department to provide feedback to the Senior Leadership Team regarding these developments.
- b) To Ensure the Highest Quality of Learning and Teaching:
- Exemplify exceptional learning and teaching practices in the subject area and with student groups.
- Guarantee continuity and progression in the subject by aiding colleagues in selecting appropriate instructional sequences and methods, while establishing clear learning objectives through an agreed-upon scheme of work.
- Set clear achievement targets for the subject area and assess progress using suitable evaluations and records, along with regular annual data analysis with the Assistant Principal Primary and Assistant Principal Secondary.
- Foster effective connections with the local community as necessary.
- Ensure that teachers understand the implications of equality of opportunity related to the subject.
- c) Leading and Managing Staff:
- Empower all educators to attain expertise in planning for and teaching the subject through modeling, support, and delivering high-quality professional development opportunities.
- Keep the Senior Leadership Team and Governors well-informed about policies, plans, priorities, and targets for the subject.
