Crofton House School is seeking a qualified elementary teacher to deliver French as an additional language. French is taught in the Junior School from Grades 1-7, with this position focusing on students in Grades 5-7. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team that supports the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School.

Responsibilities:
● Cultivate a warm and inviting environment conducive to learning for young students.
● Teach French as an additional language in the Junior School, particularly for Grades 5, 6, and 7, creating engaging and dynamic lessons.
● Incorporate French culture into your teaching.
● Ensure consistent language learning competencies across the Junior School while collaborating with colleagues.
● Work with all Junior School teachers to effectively meet student needs.
● Tailor language learning expectations to accommodate diverse students.
● Use instructional technology to enhance learning experiences.
● Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, focusing on the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach.
● Participate in the co-curricular program at the Junior School.
Requirements/Qualifications:
● Native-like proficiency in French (both oral and written).
● Familiarity with TPRS is a plus.
● B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification.
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
● Understanding of how to accommodate various learning styles at the elementary level.
● Energetic, collaborative, and passionate about teaching.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Proven ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
● Enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to engage in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community.
