Math Catalyst
Big River First Nation Education is on the lookout for a Math Catalyst to become a part of the education team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collecting resources to enhance math instruction
- Integrating Indigenous perspectives and learning methods into the math curriculum
- Offering leadership and support through modeling and mentoring for teachers in curriculum planning, assessment, and instructional strategies
- Conducting professional development for staff regarding curricular programs and aiding in the execution of instructional programs as defined in the curriculum
- Collaborating with in-school staff to examine a diverse range of math instructional strategies
- Supporting students in enhancing specific math skills related to number, patterns/relations, and space/shape segments of the curriculum.
Requirements:
- Excellent scheduling and organizational skills
- A Bachelor of Education degree along with a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
- Capability to teach students with diverse abilities
- Familiarity with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Cross-cultural experience is advantageous
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Capability to verify previous teaching experience (if applicable)
