PYP STEM Teacher
About This Role
Curriculum & Planning
•
Collaborate with PYP Homeroom Teachers to incorporate STEM into Units of Inquiry
•
Design and execute STEM projects, experiments, and activities
•
Ensure lessons are aligned with IB learner profile attributes and approaches to learning (ATL skills)
Assessment & Reporting
•
Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments
•
Keep precise records of student performance and development
•
Offer constructive feedback to students and communicate their progress to parents
•
Participate in report writing and parent-teacher conferences
Classroom Environment
•
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere
•
Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies
•
Ensure effective use and upkeep of STEM resources, tools, and equipment
Collaboration & Professional Development
•
Collaborate with academic staff, coordinators, and leadership teams
•
Engage in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
•
Stay informed about the latest trends in STEM education and IB practices
Experience
•
A minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in STEM or related fields
•
Experience in the IB PYP is preferred
•
Background in international schools is a plus
Skills & Competencies
•
Solid understanding of inquiry-based learning and the IB PYP philosophy
•
Ability to incorporate technology into teaching (e.g., coding, robotics, digital tools)
•
Excellent classroom management abilities
•
Strong communication and teamwork skills
•
Creative and innovative approach to teaching
