Economics and Business Teacher

Socrates Educa International School, situated in Salou just south of Barcelona, has the capacity to accommodate up to 800 students and provides a comprehensive education for learners aged 1 to 18+. As the inaugural institution to adopt the Socrates Educa model, it features an innovative pedagogical approach that is expected to be replicated in future schools.

This vibrant and welcoming trilingual school, teaching in English, Spanish, and Catalan, offers a curriculum that includes Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, the National and International Baccalaureate (IB), as well as the US High School Dual Diploma, with a strong international focus. Additionally, Chinese is offered as a foreign language. Our educational framework is grounded in the local curriculum while incorporating global influences, predominantly delivered in English by our diverse faculty.

We are currently seeking a Secondary teacher with experience in both national and International Baccalaureate programs for the upcoming academic year beginning in September 2026.

Ideal candidates will be collaborative team members, innovative and creative educators capable of differentiating instruction, adept at making economics and business engaging, and enthusiastic about working in a multilingual setting. International experience is crucial, while IB experience is a considerable advantage. This position also includes tutoring responsibilities. Proficiency in Catalan and/or Spanish and familiarity with the Spanish curriculum will be beneficial.

Essential qualifications for all applicants include:

- Fluency in English, with the ability to teach entirely in authentic English.
- A passion for teaching Economics and Business, inspiring students across all ability levels. IB experience is preferred, and the ability to teach an additional subject is a plus.
- Proficient ICT skills, particularly with Mac/iPad and educational applications.

Required qualifications:

- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.

Desirable attributes:

- Experience as a Secondary teacher for IB and Bachillerato/ESO, instructing students aged 12-18.
- IB trained or willing to pursue training.

Highly valued:

- Experience with UCAS/D of E.
- Familiarity with the Spanish ESO/Bachillerato curriculum.
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan.
