About This Role

British International School Hanoi is seeking to appoint a Secondary Learning Support Coordinator to join our skilled and dedicated team of educators starting in August 2025.

The Learning Support Coordinator will oversee a team of committed Learning Support Assistants, focusing on students with Special Education Needs (SEN) and those who are Most Able (MA). This role entails providing both in-class and specialized assistance to enhance learning outcomes. The Coordinator will work closely with the English as an Additional Language (EAL) team and the Social-Emotional Counsellor, all housed in the school’s newly established Inclusion Centre. Collaborating with pastoral and teaching staff, this position is pivotal in addressing a diverse array of student needs, cultivating a safe and ambitious environment where every student can flourish. The Learning Support Coordinator will report to the Deputy Head of Secondary and will be supported by a teaching assistant.

Purpose of the role:

- To assist students identified with Special Education Needs (SEN) and Most Able (MA), providing push-in and pull-out support as necessary.
- To advocate for high-quality inclusive teaching and learning practices across all school activities, ensuring that all Secondary School students can access, excel, and engage with personalized academic challenges within our learning environment.
- To collaborate with teachers on planning, sharing strategies, preparing differentiated resources, and engaging in small group or team teaching to enhance outcomes for learning support students.

Our teachers:

- Deliver exceptional teaching and learning, ensuring every student is challenged, makes progress, and thrives in a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Are dedicated to understanding students individually, ensuring that learning is tailored to allow each student to advance in their educational journey.
- Continuously seek innovative opportunities, experimenting with new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom to foster a culture of experimentation and calculated risk-taking.
- Prioritize student well-being at all times and actively safeguard students in accordance with school safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Skillfully incorporate learning technology into their practice, selecting the most suitable tools to enhance the educational experience.
- While international school experience, especially within an IB framework, is preferred, it is not a requirement for application.
