Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive School Nurse to join our team at The Millennium School, Dubai. Reporting directly to the School Doctor, the ideal candidate will help create optimal learning environments by identifying health-related barriers to education and addressing the health needs of each student, thereby enhancing their learning capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that students and parents are well-informed about immunization programs in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines.
- Be available to assist students and staff with immediate medical needs, offering medical advice as necessary.
- Maintain thorough medical records for all students as mandated by the Ministry of Health.
- Develop procedures for administering first aid in the event of accidents or illnesses occurring on campus or during school events.
- Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Appropriately refer any accidents or illnesses to the school doctor or hospitals and notify parents and the school Principal.
- Be present for all student-related activities on campus.
- Stay informed about current medical practices and regulations as stipulated by governmental authorities.
- Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
- Demonstrate commitment by going above and beyond typical work hours when required by tasks.
- Perform additional duties as requested by direct and dotted line managers/supervisors.
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse with a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) nursing license
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school or nursery setting in Dubai
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to remain composed during emergencies and manage pressure during peak times.
- A logical and approachable individual capable of interacting with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds and cultures.
