Responsibilities
In alignment with school policy, the ideal Music Teacher will exhibit the following essential competencies:
● Subject expertise and instructional effectiveness: Showcasing a strong understanding of the subject matter and the IBMYP and IBDP frameworks to successfully engage and educate students.
● Ability to offer a comprehensive music curriculum: Providing students with a well-rounded music program that includes extracurricular and supplementary activities within a secure learning environment.
● Organizational skills: Establishing a structured, creative, and organized learning atmosphere. Designing and implementing a balanced music program to enable effective teaching and learning experiences.
● Collaboration with peers: Actively contributing to the development of a professional learning community and encouraging collaborative efforts among colleagues.
● Interpersonal skills: Fostering a trusting environment by interacting positively and openly with both students and staff.
● Engagement with parents: Maintaining effective communication and coordination with parents and others involved in the educational journey and development of students.
● Self-reflection and professional growth: Regularly evaluating personal and professional growth and capabilities.
● Technological proficiency: Incorporating technology skills into teaching and learning processes.
● Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
Requirements
● Prior successful teaching experience is preferred.
● Experience in an international school setting is preferred.
● Evidence of ongoing relevant professional development.
● Strong organizational abilities.
● Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
● Independent, proactive, and collaborative in nature.
