Maths Teacher

James Cook High School is a diverse and vibrant learning community committed to doing the very best for our students. Our current roll of over 1,900 students has grown considerably in 2026 and with a further predicted roll growth. We are looking for a full time, permanent teacher of maths for a Term 2 start (20^th April 2026). Our kura provides education for the multicultural diversity of Manurewa.

We are seeking an enthusiastic New Zealand registered Teacher who demonstrates empathy and understanding towards our students and their culture. The ability to create flexible and ongoing assessment practices for students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality mathematics education to students in Years 7-15.
• Implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
• Engage students in their learning and foster a positive classroom environment.
• Assess and report on student progress and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery.

Qualifications

• New Zealand registered teacher.
• Experience in teaching mathematics at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum.
• Ability to create flexible and ongoing assessment practices.
