Head of Secondary School
About This Role
Budapest British International School (BBIS), an esteemed IB World School, is on the lookout for an innovative, enthusiastic, and inspiring Head of Secondary School to join our team during this transformative phase of our growth. With the anticipated confirmation of our IB Continuum status, BBIS is poised to become the first IB Continuum School in Budapest and the first in Hungary to offer a continuous IB education from Primary through to the Diploma Programme (DP), from which students have successfully graduated to pursue higher education. As we expand, our commitment to prioritizing students remains steadfast.
Our strengths in sports, arts, business, and community service enhance our dedication to academic excellence. Supported by a modern IT infrastructure powered by Google Workspace, we leverage technology to improve teaching and learning experiences.
As a COBIS-accredited institution, BBIS combines outstanding elements of British and international education. We maintain clear entry requirements, small class sizes (ranging from 16-18 in Primary and 18 in Secondary), and employ a two-form entry model, cultivating a supportive and high-quality educational environment.
We are now in search of a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Secondary School who can build upon the strong foundations laid by our current Head of Secondary. Over the past three years, we have successfully transformed the Secondary School into a robust and student-centered environment. The new Head of Secondary will continue this momentum, infusing energy, expertise, and innovation to lead the execution of BBIS’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan. The ideal candidate will spearhead and manage the realization of the plan’s ambitious objectives, ensuring that:
1. **Evidence-based teaching** is central to classroom practices,
2. **Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)** are integrated throughout the school community,
3. Our **Curriculum** equips students to excel in a rapidly evolving global landscape,
4. **Character Development** remains a fundamental aspect of school life,
5. **Environmental Stewardship** is adopted as a guiding principle.
