Located in the heart of Phuket Island, HeadStart achieved 'International School' status in 2010 and is accredited by The Education Development Trust. In our latest inspection, we proudly received the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM), with evaluators recognizing us as a 'Good School with Outstanding Features.'

Our curriculum aligns with the national curriculum of England, offering Cambridge and Pearson qualifications in secondary education, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs. Our main campus at Chaofah serves 960 students and is oversubscribed in most year groups. Starting in August 2025, we will expand our Upper School offerings, establishing 'HeadStart College' as the leading educational institution in Southern Thailand.

In August 2023, we inaugurated a new campus in Cherngtalay, located in the northern region of the island. This two-form entry Foundation, Primary, and Secondary School (KS3 only) accommodates up to 500 students, with plans to transition to a three-form entry school by August 2025.

Head of Lower Secondary –
Following the promotion of the current post-holder to Secondary Principal, we are in search of an experienced and inspiring educational leader for the role of Head of Lower Secondary School at the Chaofah Campus, starting in August 2025.

The Head of Lower Secondary will oversee the strategic development and operational management of academic and pastoral programs for students in Year 7 to Year 10.

The ideal candidate will possess the personal qualities needed for leadership under the guidance of the Secondary Principal, leading by example and earning the respect of students, colleagues, and parents alike.

Collaboration with the Head of Upper School and the Assistant Head of Lower School will be essential in steering the pastoral and academic vision for the school.

This role will involve significant contributions to the development of school academic and pastoral policies and practices, particularly for Years 7 to 10. A history of exceptional teaching is required, along with a commitment to excellence in academic delivery and an understanding of the pastoral challenges typical in an international educational environment like HeadStart International School.

The successful candidate will leverage their teaching and leadership expertise to act as a mentor, resource, or counselor for both new and existing middle leaders and teachers within the secondary school.

We seek a highly dedicated team player who brings enthusiasm, energy, and passion to inspire a love of learning in students. A good sense of humor and a strong work ethic are vital.

Requirements / Application Details –
Essential Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of the English National Curriculum for KS3 & KS4.
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff while driving school improvement.
- A proven record of whole-school enhancement.
- Minimum of three years in a leadership and management position.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A recognized teaching qualification: BEd., PGCE, or equivalent.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.

Desirable Requirements (not essential):
- Experience in an International School setting.
- Teaching experience with English as an Additional Language learners.
