About This Role

ADNOC Schools is on the lookout for a Head of Careers & Alumni to join our expanding network of owned and operated schools in the UAE. This senior position will be based at ADNOC Schools and will collaborate with all four of our campuses. As institutions following the Massachusetts State Curriculum, ADNOC Schools provide exceptional learning environments in Abu Dhabi City and the Western Region of the Abu Dhabi Emirate. The role is set to commence in January 2025.

Ideal candidates will possess a proven history of effective leadership experience, preferably gained in the UK, USA, or other international contexts, along with strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity. They will be adept at managing the diverse needs of stakeholders, from board members to parents, teachers, and Principals. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to be a visible leader and ambassador for the school are essential for this role.

The position demands high-level strategic thinking coupled with a solid understanding of how to achieve excellent educational outcomes across the school. Candidates must be dedicated to collaborating with other schools in the group and finding innovative ways to engage with strategic partners, supporting both the institution and the broader educational vision in the UAE.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive database of alumni contacts.
  • Plan and coordinate alumni events, including reunions, homecoming, and networking opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with alumni through newsletters, emails, and social media to share school updates and events.
  • Cultivate a sense of community and belonging among alumni.
  • Promote networking among alumni, facilitating professional and social connections.
  • Provide platforms for alumni to share their success stories and experiences with current students.
  • Collaborate with the school's development office to involve alumni in fundraising initiatives.
  • Seek alumni contributions, endowments, and sponsorships to support school programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance alumni giving and engagement rates.
  • Establish and oversee mentorship programs connecting alumni with current students.
  • Implement various Exam Prep programs to assist students in grades 10-12.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of mentorship and exam programs, particularly those involving third parties.
  • Organize and manage alumni-related events, handling logistics, invitations, and follow-up.
  • Ensure events run smoothly and deliver value to participants.
  • Create marketing materials and content to engage alumni.
  • Leverage multiple communication channels, such as social media, newsletters, and the school website, to promote alumni activities and achievements.

Minimum Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred), with a PGCE or other teaching qualification.
  • Master’s degree in Education.
  • Leadership/Management experience.
  • Administrative/Leadership certification.
  • Proven experience managing College Board Programming.
  • A data analysis qualification would be advantageous.

Minimum Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching with performance that exceeds standards and expectations, as evidenced by Performance Appraisal.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Teaching certification and significant experience in Career guidance and/or Alumni development.
  • Leadership experience within a school setting or educational context.
