Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking to hire a dynamic, qualified, and inspiring EYFS Classroom Teacher for an anticipated start in August 2025. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Assume responsibility for teaching a class of students aged from eighteen months to five years. Currently, there is flexibility in the assignment of a specific year group.
  • Develop medium-term and short-term lesson plans in alignment with school policy.
  • Maintain an up-to-date parent portal that includes helpful resources for parents.
  • Collaborate closely with parallel teachers (if applicable) and teaching assistants for termly and weekly planning, as well as with other staff to ensure continuity and progression.
  • Cater to the diverse abilities of children through thoughtfully planned differentiated activities.
  • Conduct monitoring, recording, assessment, and reporting in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide timely and appropriate feedback on marked work, following the marking policy, and offer individual encouragement whenever feasible.
  • In coordination with the music teacher, oversee rehearsals and direct students for concerts and services.
  • Take responsibility for the pastoral care of students in the class, fostering positive interpersonal relationships among children and between children and the teacher.
  • Manage classroom behavior in line with the school's behavior policy.
  • Share lunch daily with the children and supervise lunchtime behavior (refer to staff handbook for procedures).
  • Communicate closely with the Head Master and other staff regarding any children of concern.
  • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment in the classroom, ensuring displays are regularly updated and reflect current classroom activities (following presentation policy).
  • Organize all classroom resources to ensure accessibility for children as appropriate.
  • Provide a diverse selection of reading materials in the classroom.
  • Review home/school reading diaries daily and make comments as needed to facilitate effective communication.
  • Keep all paperwork current and accurate (including registers, profiles, health matters, etc.).
  • Meet with parents as necessary to cultivate strong professional relationships and effective communication.
  • Promote the school by engaging with prospective parents who visit the classroom, attending open evenings, and acting as ambassadors for the institution.
  • Participate in parent evenings and school events as required.
  • Ensure the care, security, and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment throughout the school.
  • Fulfill all duties and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook.
  • Organize a termly class assembly and occasionally lead whole-school assemblies.
  • Attend Parent Association events and other evening/weekend activities.
  • Participate in staff and curriculum meetings, including occasional whole-school meetings.
  • Engage in the appraisal process.
  • Be willing to attend INSET sessions (which may occur in the evenings) and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Lead an after-school activity club in collaboration with the CCA coordinator.
  • Serve as a positive role model in terms of speech, attire, behavior, and care of equipment.
  • Additional experience in one or more specialized fields will be advantageous.
