Situated in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an expanding primary and lower secondary institution that implements an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, alongside UAE MOE subjects. With the introduction of Grades 6 to 8, our new secondary school will welcome students for the first time in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), aligning ourselves with leading international British schools, and we are equipped to provide the ECT induction for teachers.
The Role (Founding Position)
RAK Academy – Al Hamra is on the lookout for a motivated, enthusiastic, and inspirational Positive Engagement Leader (Grade 6) to join our dynamic founding team. This role is integral to cultivating a culture of high aspirations, positive behavior, and robust student engagement during the secondary phase. As an inaugural member of staff, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the systems, policies, and practices that will shape the school’s ethos and culture for the future.
• A Bachelor’s degree; preference will be given to those with specializations in Science, MFL, or PE.
• A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• A thorough understanding of effective teaching and learning practices.
• Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• The ability to engage, motivate, and support students.
• A reflective practitioner capable of innovative and creative thinking.
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a growth-oriented mindset.
• A willingness to actively participate in extra-curricular activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses.
• National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).
• National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT).
• A proven track record of improving student outcomes.
