**Job Title:** Speech and Language Therapist
**Location:** Closeburn House – Dumfriesshire DG3 5HP / Maben House - Dumfriesshire DG11 1RW (responsibility for both locations)
**Salary:** Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)
**Hours:** 22 hours per week, 08:30 am - 4:30 pm (3 days a week)
**Contract:** Permanent, 52 weeks

This position encompasses the OFG Options Holistic services in Scotland, which includes Maben School and residential home, as well as Closeburn School and residential home.

**The role:**
We are in search of a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Closeburn House School.

In collaboration with the education team, you will provide tailored speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for students who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will adhere to the standards outlined in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, which will direct your practice within the educational setting and clarify your duties and responsibilities while considering the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will take on the responsibility of managing a speech and language therapy caseload with full support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and you will also contribute to staff training and consultation as needed. This role is ideal for a resilient, creative, and enthusiastic individual.

**Essential Criteria:**
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- 1-2 years of experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting
- Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practices
- Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration across various settings
- Experience communicating with and working alongside families, relatives, and caregivers
- Interest in expanding knowledge and skills in different aspects of speech and language therapy practice
- Strong relationship-building, analytical, and judgment skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Competence in core areas of speech and language therapy practice and a clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Familiarity with various speech and language therapy assessment tools and intervention methods, as well as the ability to formulate support plans based on individual needs
- Understanding of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management concerning the client group
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to participate in training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group

**Desirable:**
- Understanding of other differences, such as sensory and motor-related challenges, that may affect an individual’s communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties, and needs profile
- Evidence of understanding the connection between arousal levels and communication
- Full driving license and access to a car (Highly Desirable)
