About This Role

Teacher, Social Justice/Service Learning, Senior School

Full-Time, Fixed-term Contract

September - February

Crofton House School offers a girl-centered learning environment for students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. We encourage our learners to achieve their fullest potential by embracing both academic challenges and diverse experiences, all supported by a dedicated faculty committed to their success. At Crofton House School, we foster a strong community spirit among educators, staff, students, and families, where every individual contributes to the vibrancy of our school, including you.

We provide extensive professional development opportunities, competitive salaries, and a comprehensive benefits package. Our expansive 10-acre campus features modern facilities, picturesque outdoor spaces, and a strong connection to nature. Central to our experiential education approach is the Ivy Compass program, which extends learning beyond traditional settings to foster personal growth, leadership, and active citizenship. This program is structured around four quadrants—North (New Horizons), South (Service Learning), West (World Citizenship), and East (Environmental Learning)—enabling students to engage with complex issues such as sustainability, social justice, feminism, Indigenous education, and global citizenship. Each grade participates in an annual Outdoor Education trip and two themed experiential “Ivy Days.” The aim of this program is to develop inspired leaders and socially conscious change-makers.

We are looking for a Social Justice/Service Learning Teacher for the Senior School, who will be instrumental in the South Quadrant programming. This role involves designing and facilitating interactive workshops and experiences, mentoring students in service-oriented initiatives, and managing community partnerships. As an Experiential Learning Facilitator, you will enable student projects to make a meaningful impact. We seek an experienced, student-centered educator with a passion for experiential learning and a commitment to helping students find their purpose while engaging with local and global communities.

Candidates should have expertise in service learning and human rights education, along with the ability to guide students in discussions of complex and often contentious topics. You should value student agency and enjoy collaborating with colleagues, while also recognizing the vital role of parents as partners in education. The ideal applicant is approachable, genuine, and supportive, with a dedication to professional development, reflective practice, and active involvement in the school community. At CHS, you will work alongside intellectually curious students and a motivated, inspiring team of colleagues who share a passion for learning. This fixed-term contract will span from September 2026 to February 2027 to cover a leave of absence.
