About This Role
We are seeking a qualified Secondary Alternative Pathways Teacher to join our dedicated team at GEMS Education in Dubai, starting in January 2026. We are in search of an enthusiastic and committed educator who is passionate about providing exceptional teaching and learning experiences in a vibrant, forward-thinking international school setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong subject knowledge, creativity in lesson delivery, and a genuine passion for motivating students to cultivate a lifelong interest in Alternative Pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Inclusion to develop the Alternative Pathway curriculum and manage timetabling.
- Work alongside the Head of Inclusion on future advancements for the school’s Alternative Pathway.
- Coordinate with specialist subject teachers to adapt the curriculum for mainstream classes.
- Maintain and oversee the IASEND assessment tracker for the Alternative Pathway.
- Communicate with the Head of Inclusion and specialist subject teachers regarding Alternative Pathway reporting systems.
- Partner with Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Learning Support case managers in the creation and management of ASDAN and Alternative Pathway resources.
- Conduct internal moderation of ASDAN student files for certification purposes.
- Facilitate professional development training sessions on ASDAN for 1:1 Learning Support Assistants.
- Lead the execution of ASDAN tasks and assignments.
- Collaborate closely with the Dubai ASDAN coordinator and the International Development coordinator to ensure effective integration, review, and moderation of ASDAN.
- Stay informed about national and international trends in the ASDAN curriculum.
