Situated in the center of Phuket Island, HeadStart was granted ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is fully accredited by The Education Development Trust. During our most recent inspection, we earned the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM), with evaluators recognizing HeadStart as a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features.’
Our educational program adheres to the national curriculum of England, providing Cambridge and Pearson qualifications at the secondary level, which include IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs.
Our main campus at Chaofah serves 1000 students and has a waiting list in several year groups. As we look ahead to August 2028, we plan to enhance our Upper School site and offerings to launch 'HeadStart College' as the premier educational institution in Southern Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a new campus in Cherngtalay, located in the northern part of the island. Initially established as a one-form Foundation and Primary school, the Cherngtalay Campus has expanded into a three-form entry Foundation, Primary, and Secondary School (only KS3), accommodating a maximum of 500 students.
Science Teacher
As we broaden our Upper School site and programs for Sixth Form and Key Stage 4, we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dynamic Science Teacher to start in August 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching across all secondary age groups. The successful applicant will specialize in their subject at IGCSE level while also teaching Key Stage 3 Science (Years 7–9), delivering a collaborative KS3 curriculum that includes Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Candidates should possess experience across the secondary age range and a talent for inspiring students in the sciences. Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus would be beneficial.
We seek a highly committed team player who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a true passion for teaching, capable of fostering a love for learning in students. A good sense of humor and a robust work ethic are vital qualities.
Requirements / Application Details
Essential Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience teaching students at all levels
- In-depth understanding of the assessment criteria for KS3 and IGCSE Science
- Demonstrated success in teaching
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- A recognized teaching qualification: BEd., PGCE, iPGCE, or equivalent
- Must be fluent in English
Desirable Requirements (not mandatory):
- Previous experience in an International School environment
- Experience working with learners who are non-native English speakers.
