Middle School Robotics and Technology Teacher
About This Role
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Middle School Robotics and Technology Teacher to join our Design & Technology Department. This role presents an exciting opportunity to inspire students through engaging STEM education, robotics design, and engineering challenges, while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and computational thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging robotics and technology lessons that meet Common Core and STEM educational standards
- Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences that enhance engineering and problem-solving skills
- Teach students about robotics design, coding, and technology concepts through inquiry-based instructional methods
- Integrate robotics platforms and programming tools into daily classroom activities
- Assess student learning using both formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and accomplishments
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve interdisciplinary STEM education
- Encourage innovation, teamwork, and creativity within the classroom setting
- Stay informed about the latest developments in robotics, coding, and educational technology
- Engage in extracurricular activities such as robotics clubs, STEM events, or competitions
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in robotics, STEM, or technology education
- Experience working with middle school students is preferred
- Strong understanding of project-based learning and effective STEM education methodologies
- Familiarity with robotics platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, Arduino, or similar technologies
- Proficient in programming languages suitable for middle school learners (Scratch, Python, block coding, etc.)
- Ability to seamlessly integrate technology into the teaching and learning process
- Strong organizational and classroom management capabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
