Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Middle School Counselor to become part of our committed team starting in August 2026. Job Purpose

To organize and deliver academic, personal, social, and emotional counseling for students.

Job Scope

You will hold the overall responsibility for creating and executing a counseling program that aligns with the needs of the school and its students, facilitating their success across all life dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and embody the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Set up processes and timelines to provide students with comprehensive counseling encompassing academic, personal, social, emotional, and psychological aspects.
  • Oversee the transition process for students.
  • Develop procedures for securing external support for students facing personal and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to create experiences and activities that benefit students’ overall development, while fostering responsibility, leadership, teamwork, and other essential personal and social skills.
  • Maintain detailed student records concerning progress, achievements, activities, and interests, while utilizing all available data to track student development.
  • Implement proactive guidelines and procedures to address bullying effectively.
  • Design and administer suitable testing programs to assess student aptitude and achievement.
  • Establish a system to promptly inform parents regarding any academic or behavioral concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
  • Demonstrate commitment by putting forth effort beyond the standard workday when necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by direct and dotted line managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
