High School/University Counsellor
About This Role
We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable High School/University Counsellor to join our High School Division at ACS International School Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in guiding students through the university selection process.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver presentations at various meetings and parents’ evenings to inform students and their families about colleges, the admissions process, relevant trends, procedures, and testing requirements.
- Offer guidance on academic pathways and course selections to students and their parents throughout High School, ensuring that students make informed subject choices.
- Collaborate with pathway coordinators to provide career advice in the High School, assisting students in making academic decisions that align with their future career aspirations.
- Support students facing learning, physical, social, and emotional challenges through meetings based on referrals from teachers, parents, principals, or the students themselves.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a master’s degree.
- Certification in school counselling is essential.
- Previous experience in Secondary School/High School, along with university and careers counselling or guidance, ideally in an international context.
- Familiarity with IB / AP programs is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, with a strong ability to communicate effectively.
