About This Role

Ravenshall School is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Educational Teaching Assistants to work in our “Exceptional School” (Ofsted, 2024)

Our outstandingspecial school caters for pupils aged 4 - 19 who have learning difficulties and a wide range of complex needs.

We provide a broad, balanced, personalised and fully engaging curriculum which will enable each child to develop emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually to achieve their full potential through a wide range of learning opportunities. Our pupils are enthusiastic and love coming to school. They expect a lot from the adults that work with them!

The successful candidate will have a passion for Special Educational Needs and a firm understanding of positive behaviour support strategies, understand and commit to the school’s values and be able to work within our strong team of support staff.

Our staff are required to work in all phases of the school which includes Primary through to our Post 16 provision.

As the school is based over two sites, there may be occasions where it is necessary for staff to travel between sites during the working day, if the timetable demands this. Flexibility is an asset!

Applications are welcome from candidates who have a mainstream background as well as those currently working within a Special Education setting, as we offer high quality in-house support and CPD for successful candidates joining our forward-facing school.

This is an exciting opportunity for a colleague to extend and develop their CPD in new and innovative ways.

We look forward to hearing from you if you are:

v An excellent practitioner, able to set and achieve high standards and expectations

v Have a strong understanding of engagement strategies to support engagement for learning approaches

v A highly motivated professional and a team player with drive and vision

v An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills

In return we can offer:

v A school which values and invests in all our staff by providing a range of bespoke CPD opportunities to enable you to meet all our pupil needs

v A well-resourced and enjoyable working environment which cares for and values every staff member

v A supportive and collaborative leadership team who welcome new ideas and innovation

v A school committed to raising standards which has children and young people at the heart of our maxim “All Different, All Equal, All Important”

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Visits to the school are welcome.

Please contact the school on 01924 456811 to arrange an appointment.

Closing date is Friday 8 May at 10am
